Green Smoothie
Whimsical
[info]beletseri
Just made a green smoothie for me and my youngest. She`s 15, and asked if I would make her one a couple of days ago to try and she actually liked it! I was talking to her on the phone yesterday and she actually asked me to make her another one when she came back here. I think that is fantastic! This one contained mixed baby greens, cucumber, coconut water, almond milk, 2 bananas, 2 kiwis, and an orange. I also added 2 tsp spirulina, some agave syrup and a small squeeze of lemon to mask the spirulina flavor. It was good, but needed another orange I think.

Well I just made my celery, apple, carrot juice, with a little lemon, and I think something is wrong with me.  I'm starting to think it tastes great!  LOL!  The first 2 times I had it I could hardly get it down.  Now it's almost delicious to me.  I wonder if my taste buds are changing. . .  Weird. It tastes really sweet, but  the only sweetener I use is carrots and apples.  And I used less carrot this time, but not by much.  Neat!

I'm still around

Just letting everyone know I'm still around and I didn't get stuck in Florida during the gas crisis last Sept. We had a few scares on the way home though. Several places had run out of gas and we were in a big ole camper! But we made it.  Yay!

Well I'm leaving in an hour to go on vacation.

Hopefully I won't get stuck there with the gas crisis being what it is... But I'm not going to worry about it and try to have fun!

I'll see you all in a week!

Back from Dr.
Black cats blinking
[info]beletseri
Well, we still don't know what it is, but the Dr. suggested that it could be Scabies even though she wasn't showing any characteristic burrows, and since it was spreading, but it could also be allergies. So Kaity is on the cream for Scabies tonight, and also on benadryl for the itching. Hopefully the combo will take care of whatever in the world she has. Apparently it's just a big ol' mystery.

Sold the car!
Beletseri Kitty
[info]beletseri
Yay! We sold that car this evening. The little old man that bought it was totally cute and like a kid on Christmas getting the best gift ever! I sure hope that he loves it and that it does what he wants for him. He has one just like it but 2 years newer, and he basically just wants this one for parts to fix that one up. I'm really pleased to have that taken care of, and now as soon as Tiff gets tags on her new car, then we can get her insured properly in it and drop that car! Yay!

Don't know if Kaity has scabies or not yet, but I am going to be able to take her to the dr. tomorrow, so we will see. Her friend went today and the dr said it could be anything, so he prescribed him some pills to take... I think the symptoms seem very much like scabies to me, but who knows. It would be great if it's not, and she just needs to take some meds for a few days to get better, and we don't have to worry about washing everything. Ugh. I've got enough to do without worrying about that too.

after a long hiatus... crazyness
seriously?

I've been pretty busy lately, and today has been a little nerve wracking, but good.

I have worked for months to get approved with an at home crafting company, and the other day I finally passed their approval process! I'm so delighted. I need to make money, but because of the pain in my neck and shoulders and my headaches, not to mention the bit of social anxiety I have, working out of the house just isn't an option for me right now.

I researched for a long time to find a legit company and I can't wait to get my first check. It feels really good to actually have a source of income, even if it isn't that much, and it will take a while to build up. But for me, it's worth it. It's nice to just have a focus and something to do everyday. I can't wait to really get started with it. Unfortunately I won't be able to do much for another week because I've done something to my neck and I've been in terrible pain all week. It really hurts to look down for a long period of time, so I haven't really had a chance to work on my first shipment since being approved. I'm leaving on Friday to go on vacation with my mom and dad. I'm so looking forward to getting away from everything, but it means that I won't be able to finish my crafts till I get back. But it's a good trade off.

I think we are going to go either to Florida or Gatlinburg... Big difference, I know, but it all depends on the hurricane situation. I really hope that Florida doesn't have to be out since it's been years since I went to the beach, but right now I'd take just about anywhere we could go on vacation and be absolutely delighted with it. I can't describe how much I'm looking forward to this!

insanely long rambling )

Alright I think I have covered everything that I meant to, but who knows, I'm a little coo coo today, and you might be too if you read all of that! ;-)

Today I have a killer headache.  It feels like my head is going to fall off, and we are out of excedrin migraine, so I am just having to suffer.  It's probably better anyway.  I take so much of that stuff, that I have actually started to seriously worry about the health of my liver.  Too many pain killers in my system over the past 6 years.  I have got to get a new mattress.  That will probably take care of 90% of my pain.

I hope that everyone is well!

My oldest step-daughter, Jenna, celebrates her 21st birthday today.  I can hardly believe it.  She was just 15 when Barry and I got married.  It just seems insane that she should be 21 already.  We had a little party for her yesterday since that was when the girls were over here.  Jenna came over in the morning and she and I visited our local episcopalian church.  I really enjoyed going there.  It was a very different experience from what I'm used to, and I was very pleased.  We are going to go back again next Sunday I think.  But afterwards, Barry and I went out and got her a cookie cake, and a gift and then we came home and had a nice early dinner and just visited before she had to go.

My middle step-daughter Tiffany graduates from high school next month.  That is pretty incredible too.  She is going to go to ETSU with her sister and get into nursing.  I'm really proud of both of them for working so hard and really concentrating on their future careers.  They are both a far sight ahead of where I was at their age, which is a bit bewildering.  I thought I was pretty smart till I met my step-daughters!  HA!

So anyway here is a meme I gacked from [info]averygoodun

She doesn't have dry socket!
Angel
[info]beletseri
So my oldest and I went to the dentist today to check on her teeth, and they told her that she was healing fine, and that she doesn't have dry socket. They told her that some blood came out, but the socket looks fine. The pain she has been feeling is because she hasn't been taking her ibuprofen as often as she should, and the bad taste in her mouth is possibly from food particles, and it could also be from the blood in her sockets, but they told her that her sockets were clean, and the feeling that she has been having where she thinks that there is food stuck in them is most likely from internal swelling that hasn't gone down yet. So overall it was a very good visit and she and I feel a lot better about it! She goes back again on the 23rd I think to get looked at again and to get the little syringes that she can use to flush the food out of her sockets. She is very excited about getting that. I think it will make her feel like her mouth is a whole lot cleaner.

I think I might be finally getting past my antisocial phase that I was going through for a while there.  Lets all hope so, because when I get that way it is really depressing.

*hugs to all my friends out there*  Hopefully you will be seeing a little more of me on here now.  *crosses fingers*

I've been cleaning the house like crazy since about 9:30 this morning, and sitting down now, I'm not sure if I can get back up to get started again!

Barry's mom and step-dad are coming in tonight to visit with us through the weekend and to see my middle girl's musical at the local high school. It's her last one as she starts college in the fall.

So far I've done the dishes, scrubbed the kitchen and the living room. I've vacuumed the living room, including the couches and pillows and thrown all of our throw blankets in the washer with hot water and I have sprayed that Febreze Allergen Reducer all over the place as Barry's step-dad is kinda allergic to cat hair, but I'm going to have to go get some more as it is completely out now. I really hope that helps him to breathe easy. He never really shows too many problems when he is here, but I don't want him to suffer.

I still need to clean the bathroom, vacuum our bedroom, finish up the laundry, sweep and mop the kitchen, bathroom, foyer and our bedroom. That isn't too bad. I figure I'll be done in about 2 hours. Then I need to take a shower and run to Food City to get some more Febreze Allergen Reducer and some of those great plug in Febreze Noticeables refills as mine are all out. Those things rock! I have noticed a great improvement over by the kitty litter when I have the citrus odor eliminator one plugged in there. The box never smells. Even if the kitties just used it.

All in all, I should be done several hours before they get here. I imagine they will arrive sometime between 5 and 7 PM tonight. Perfect!

Well that is enough resting. I need to get busy again.

ETA: ALL DONE!!! Yay!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Squirrel

Today for dinner I (evilly) ordered a pizza. Very bad for my diet. LOL! But when the delivery guy got here and Barry went down to get the pizza they saw that the cat had something cornered in the yard. At first Barry thought it was a rat, and the pizza guy thought it was a kitten, but then they realized that it was in fact, a baby squirrel. The poor thing had been bitten by Felicity (we think) and was bleeding from it's leg from a puncture wound and a rip in it's skin. Barry got it in a box, and we looked up online what to do with a baby squirrel. Thankfully we found a wildlife rehab center just 30 minutes away and so we called them and they told us we could bring them the little squirrel.

It was so sweet. It curled up in the washcloth that I was holding it in, and just closed it's eyes and let me rub it's head and under it's chin and on it's belly. You could tell it really liked it. I filled up a freezer bag with hot water and wrapped it up in some soft cloth and put the baby on it since squirrels need to be kept at around 99 degrees. It curled up so good against the hot water bottle and slept all the way to the rehab center. The lady took it in and said it had a broken leg and she would have to put it in a cast, but thankfully they can do that there and give it antibiotics and stuff to make it better. She said she didn't know if it would improve enough to be able to ever go back to the wild, because of it's broken leg, but that if it didn't she would be able to keep it as a learning pet for kids and other people.

I'm so glad that we were able to find someplace to take in that sweet little baby squirrel. I really didn't know what to do with it, and it's always better to let people who understand these types of things to take care of them.

I didn't know that squirrels could be so sweet and cute though! I wanted to keep it by the time we got it to the rehab center, but I know that would definitely not have been in its best interest. I decided to name it George, (LOL!) and found out that it was a girl, so now I shall fondly remember my 2 hours with Georgia the squirrel who hopefully will get better and one day be able to return to the wild, but who will have a good life regardless since she won't be eaten by a mean ol' cat named Felicity.

And if none of that makes sense it's because it is late and I'm very sleepy.

That's my totally cool Womping Willow T-shirt that you can see part of behind the Squirrel. My oldest's boyfriend made it for me before going to see OOtP and getting DH. (I lurve my shirt) LOL!
